| 1175637 | 2011-02-06 19:53:00 | Im looking for a bit of advice on a new mobile phone, not for me but a friend whos 4yo Nokia FlipPhones screen has died. Now the only real requirements are that it has an Easy to Read Screen (restricted vision) and reasonable sized keys. Some of you are no doubt thinking why dont you do a round of the phone vendors but that has been done. The problem is they all seem to want you to buy one on their recommendation without actually being able to view the screen, text size, fonts etc. All suggestions appreciated. :thanks |

If they're after something a bit flasher, a 3710 is also good, although not very good value when you compare it to a 6700. |

The phone was initially about $170. Large keys, he didn't want a touchscreen, you can change the LCD font size larger and also change the color so its orange highlighted text with a white background. Large digital clock on homepage and has hourly alerts as well as auto turn off and on. He tried ones like the Nokia 2730 but he found the keys too squashed at the bottom. Before he had a Nokia 6210 briefly off me that he lost, before he used a 5110 since 2000. Also got a 6310i recently off TM for a steal but nice ones with the LCD protector screen still on goes for over $200 .... 6310i is the newest of that generation. PS. He doesn't even know how to write text messages .. reading is a challenge enough. We've programmed speed dial for him but he's just learnt how to scroll thru the menu and press the green button :D But there is a webcam and a web browser, micro sd slot etc .. that he would never use. |

No, there is no other special requirements. The old phone had a camera which I think was used four times in four years and internet is not required. :thanks |
