Their houses are condemned because of the earthquake, but the grass is still growing and has to be cut (nz.news.yahoo.com)......Some were even told they had to remove the clippings as well!! (Some of the comments at the bottom are good). |

I liked the comment that suggested the council wallies who wrote the letters should be told to get off their shiny arses and get out there and mow the lawns themselves! It would be a better use of the rates IMHO! Notice how Sideshow Bob is out there for every possible photo opp when he can look heroic, but no sign of him on this issue! |

I hear that the council is going to relax the rules a bit for those affected. Let's hope they do that. |
