You'd be a fool to suggest that making money isn't their first and foremost priority. You are so wrong there Chill. Their first and foremost priority should be looking after the customer because without them they don't have a business and if Telecom hadn't had a monopoly situation they wouldn't have a business now. Tell me why it is where TC cable is ,Wellington and Chch etc their fees are lower. One time they thought they had me screwed but they hadn't banked on cell coverage in my area. I've yet to be convinced that the change in leadership has truly bought about a change in their business methods. I don't begrudge a business making money as I'm in business myself but I totally dislike getting screwed. |

Found out all about this when I was flatting in Wellington, The entire package of phone,tolls, and internet (in a swanky area) was only slightly more expensive then just my phone line in Wanganui, and the connection was far superiour. Again its just the actions of a monopoly, Screw everybody they can, as much as they can. scum. |

Piddly data caps are because Telecom control the SC cable company which is 90% of the capacity into NZ. The SC CEO is from Telecom. Piddly data caps are because Telecom control 95%+ of DSl pricing through the joke that is "Telecom Wholesale" Its about removing the Telecom monopoly, the debate about speed/Technology is a secondary issue, you could say faster speed is a side effect of solving the monopoly problem. |
