1207074 2011-06-05 11:56:00 Dont worry about ccleaner yet. We'll see if it picks up any corrupt files first

OK - getting tired now so I'll make the recovery discs in the morning and get back to you.

As usual - many thanks

1207075 2011-06-05 12:02:00 No probs Speedy Gonzales (78)
1207076 2011-06-07 07:15:00 The restore worked very well but the WLAN won't work.

It says "no drivers" but then I look at the WLAN in Device Manager and it tells me that no driver files are required or loaded.

I googled the details in the device instance path (148 2070) and got drivers for VGA_Intel_ 7.14.10.1409_Vistax86 but when I try to install it says that they are the wrong ones.

1207077 2011-06-07 07:23:00 Change details to hardware ids and copy whats there and paste it into Google Speedy Gonzales (78)
1207078 2011-06-07 07:30:00 I've googled again and think I found the right thing - just unzipping now.... Chris Randal (521)
1207079 2011-06-07 07:50:00 I would check on the Acer site first. Dont install any driver from any site Speedy Gonzales (78)
1207080 2011-06-07 07:53:00 I would check on the Acer site first. Dont install any driver from any site

That was my thought as well

1207081 2011-06-07 08:08:00 OK - I've got to the point where my Thomson 39D18E is "Acquiring IP address" Chris Randal (521)
1207082 2011-06-07 08:40:00 It's fine with an ethernet cable - just going to check the wireless again Chris Randal (521)
1207083 2011-06-07 21:59:00 Didn't get to check the wireless last night but this morning have had 3 BSOD with ntkrnlpa.exe as the common cause.

Should I give up and go and buy a Windows 7 disc?
