1207505 2011-06-14 02:38:00 Hi Guys

Scubadoo, glad you got one, pretty cool, eh?

Pato, I have not done any testing on running the Laptop/Netbook Stands on battery power. However, my educated guess is yes but... What I mean by that is, as the battery will be powering both the computer and the stand's fans and Led's then it will have an effect. BUT the fans are fairly small and use Led's so shouldn't draw a lot of extra current anyway so the effect would be minimal. You could easily wire a switch to control the amount of fans working and/or turn the Leds off.

BURNZEEThanks for the info. It looks ideal for my Netbook. Cheaper enough to bin if it isn't satisfactory!!

How can they even make them for that price?

To answer that question, you've got to understand how Asians do business.

The Asians make things in bulk. Each unit sold they take a little profit. Their products are therefore sold in bulk. A lot of little profits equals multibuck$. Our way of doing business is to make big profit from each unit so kiwi's business owners charge like wounded bulls.

The Chinese make the parts, assemble them, put in a coloured printed box. Then send them to New Zealand cheaper than I can make one. I do a lot of wheeling and dealing on Trade Me and I've never had a hassle buying from the Asians.

As we have a trade agreement with China, it's time for our businesses to wake up and smell the coffee.
