1206549 2011-06-03 06:08:00 I'll say. If XP can last 10 years then so can 7.
Operating systems usually have to keep up with progress - look at the available device these days, compared to when XP first came out, in 10 years -- Who knows what will be available.

If they dont keep up, they get left behind.

I dont see anyone complaining about Ubuntu upgrading the OS roughly every 6 months with a new release :D

But Ubuntu isn't used by the masses and corporates so a 6 moth update doesn't worry many people..

1206552 2011-06-03 08:47:00 Besides, it's only in this latest version they have actually changed anything greatly to do with the GUI - and even then you can still choose to run the older style interface if you wish. Agent_24 (57)
1206553 2011-06-03 09:29:00 Ubuntu and other Linux updates are free. Microsoft operating systems cost the user to update them. Bobh (5192)
1206554 2011-06-03 09:54:00 Who really gives a FF as it is going to be next year before it comes out any way so the world would have moved on since then. mikebartnz (21)
1206555 2011-06-03 13:07:00 Why upgrade?

Incentives for some here I guess.

W7 was released in 2009. I upgraded in January 2011. Probably do the same with W8.
