1207226 2011-06-06 05:36:00 Hi Guys

Thought you might be interested in another freeware review. If like mine, your touch pad just sits there, redundant, because you would rather use a mouse then make it earn it's keep.

Synaptics have brought out a program to make your Synaptic Touch Pad do things the mouse is unable to do. For example, draw an "e" on the pad and your e-mail opens. A "M" opens the media player. But here's the clever bit. Select a word in text, now draw a "?". Google Search will now open with your selected word already pre-loaded and possible websites now displayed. You can draw "r", (Research), Wikipedia now opens with your selected word preloaded and opened at the correct page. If you do the same but don't select a word, Google Search or Wikipedia will open at their default pages.

But wait, that's not all, you can customize it to launch programs, FaceBook, Twitter, your Word Processor etc. There's Cut, Copy, Paste and there's still more!!

To be fair, I can't get it to do all the functions on my Touch Pad but what it can do, makes it a keeper.

Watch the learning videos HERE. (www.uscrybe.com) Get a copy of Synaptic Scrybe (www.uscrybe.com) now.

Best of all ... it's free!!

1207227 2011-06-06 07:11:00 I have a netbook. Do I still need it? :nerd:

And what's it like on multi-touch touchpads :D

1207228 2011-06-06 07:20:00 It's not working on my ThinkPad. Probably because it's recognized as a "UltraNav Pointing Device". bot (15449)
1207229 2011-06-06 11:47:00 Hi Guys

Finally got the full features using Synaptic Scrybe. It's even better than I first thought. Got it set up to open Trade Me, (T), and PressF1, (P). Cool.

My computer has a multi-touch touchpad. While it's already got great functions, Scrybe takes it to another level so the touch pad is even better.

Right into my music so learning how to do the media thing as shown in one of the learning videos. All without the mouse.

1207231 2011-06-06 20:47:00 I've yet to use the touchpad on my laptop - I'm still a mouse user as I am totally familiar with it. Will tell SWMBO though.

1207233 2011-06-07 02:49:00 Same with me, touchpad for most unless it's design work/games.

Certainly this is nifty piece of software, can't try it yet though since I have to download it via TOR and it takes forever (no direct download)

Then Synaptic Scrybe was made for you, assuming of course you have a Synaptic Touch Pad. Especially the extra functions like the active zones - ie each corner of your pad can do one of 35 different actions depending on your settings. The middle of the pad is used to scroll up\down or left right. You can control the speed by finger pressure. The default is constant speed. In addition, the bottom corners also be made to act like your mouse buttons. You can make them do one of 35 actions too.

How about rotating objects or altering their size both bigger or smaller. There are even more features like setting up profiles, altering the sensitivity of your pad, three finger press, three finger flick etc and there's still more.

None of above affects any of your mouse's actions. It will continue doing whatever it does now. See you can have the best of both worlds!!
