1177402 2011-02-12 04:33:00 Wow, I didn't believe this

edition.cnn.com

Even I had a go on it a few months ago.

We'd better leave it to Rob now.

1177403 2011-02-13 02:53:00 I was hopeless at the guitar hero playstation stuff. And got banned for spilling beer on it. rob_on_guitar (4196)

Maybe that gives some insight as to why you were hopeless? :p

Certainly not hopeless on the real stuff though!

1177405 2011-02-13 03:54:00 Guitar Hero was fun, but they hit the sweet spot with number 3 & everything after that would have been better as DLC Greven (91)

Lol thanks, I keep trying to play it like a real guitar, have to unlearn to play kinda thing.

But I hear a lot of musos have the same issue.

1177407 2011-02-13 04:18:00 I agree, and playing a racing game with a steering-wheel controller is still nothing like driving a real car... Agent_24 (57)

My brother used to play car racing games sitting in a bath, so that pretty close.

Depending on the software I may buy one and have a crack at using it to learn guitar via my PC.

But it is about 28 trillion times better then a gamepad.

Guitar hero and DJ hero have gotten the axe.

Bit more discussion on it here:

I think guitar hero became kind of watered down with all the new instruments and whatever coming out - and not universally either. Same deal with rockband, the pro guitar and drumkits aren't available here, and the keytar is only importable for about $200.
But the deal with RB is that there's only been 3 full releases, plus spinoffs (lego, beatles, etc) and you can still import/export most songs from everywhere, and buy songs for most versions from the same place.
Guitar hero might allow this, but they didn't do it from the start like RB did, so bummer.

And activision sucks anyway, they've just put together another team to promote and manage call of duty, so it just shows they're out to make money.
