It has been talked by previous governments yet nothing is ever done about. Why has nothing been done I wonder.

1176460 2011-02-08 22:25:00 That's the point. If there are no jobs then the only option is the dole. Snorkbox (15764)
1176461 2011-02-08 22:28:00 they would be better off concentrating on creating more jobs. A few bludgers is a drop in the bucket Gobe1 (6290)
1176462 2011-02-08 22:30:00 Like they did with the cycle tracks? That only created 200 jobs when Key said it would be several thousand. QW. (15883)
1176463 2011-02-08 23:45:00 Why is it government's responsibility to find you a job?

In other countries, if you dont work, you dont eat.

A lot of tourists are using bicycles as a means of transport. I'd far sooner see cylists using cycle tracks where they are safer rather than using the roads. Tourism does create jobs.

Yes and in some countries they shoot the street kids.
We should copy?

There are some that take advantage, but most having to get a benefit would much rather not be there and have work instead.

Why don't they stop fluffing around (all of them) with BS and concentrate on ways to make NZ productive and have something of worth to sell to the rest of the world. That solves all the problems then.

Typical politician!

Don't expect a multi-millionaire to created jobs for the (poor) people, he of course knows how to create more money for himself not for others!

Largely agree, when unemployment is fairly high its better to leave the "true" bludgers alone that don't want jobs, and leave the jobs for the people wanting to work.

Target the bludgers during low unemployment times is the better idea, optimise the countries potential output, but it always happens in reverse.
