2011-02-07 21:42:00 | Where did you hear that - I'm with paradise, and we have not had any notifications ? I know officially you cant get paradise anymore. Once when talking to Telstra I was told all existing accounts remain active, as it would be a massive job to change everyone over to Telstra email, Domains etc - its cheaper and easier to leave paradise as is.

2011-02-07 22:14:00 | Found This article (www.kinetics.co.nz .aspx) Also Just spoke to Telstra- since I was calling about another matter anyway. The person said its mainly to do with the Paradise Dial up accounts. When I asked about the cable /paradise, she said hang on a minute, went away, came back and said that the residential Cable is not currently being affected, its staying as is. They want to kill the dial up accounts with paradise. Any one who is affected, has to call Telstra, and have them change over their current accounts as long as they are available. So you may not actually be able to use the current same email address if someone else has it on Telstra. Eg: if your current one was myusername@paradise --- and someone else has myusername@clear ----- you are tough out of luck. I asked about my own account, she checked and said no changes will be needed. Time will tell I spose.

2011-02-07 23:34:00 | They did it last year. You just get transferred to a @clear.net.nz account. If they have, then they are automatically redirecting Paradise - I have a dial up account simply for testing peoples connections when required. Still use the standard Paradise settings and it works fine.

2011-02-08 00:01:00 | They are changing the addresses over in groups. Parents were changed over, promised that the emails would be re directed (as specified in an email) but later were told this was not possible They wouldn't respond to my queries about my email address and I now have 1000 business cards with a non existant address. Hence why I now have my own domain

2011-02-08 00:18:00 | Paradise mail needs to die a death, the spam filtering is very average and its unsecure SMTP. | Alex B (15479) | |
2011-02-08 05:41:00 | They set up a new Paradise email account for me only yesterday. | Twelvevolts (5457) | |

The other option is to get a free Gmail (or msn or yahoo - but note: the spam filters on these email domains are light years BEHIND that of Gmail) address to make you independent of all ISPs for all time... |
