| 1207803 | 2011-06-08 23:18:00 | It's my servers that have changed their public IP addresses, I was getting 90 ping or less to them but they've changed to another address which orcon evidently incorrectly routes to, so now it goes to the bottom of the south island, new york, florida, then australia. | 8ftmetalhaed (14526) | ||

| 1207805 | 2011-06-09 00:22:00 | There seems to be a lot of backdoor deals involved in this subject, for instance, a couple of years back I ran speedtest on my telstra cable bb connection. Speed test chose Wellington Citylink as the target and the numbers were shocking to say the least. I retested using an Auckland target and got the result I expected, I live in Kapiti by the way. I contacted Citylink to ask why the difference was so great and was advised that although it appeared to be testing to Wellington the test was being redirected to San Francisco because Telstraclear along with Xtra did not subscribe to or belong to some comunications consortium who's name I now forget. This situation still exists as I just did a speed test again and got these results. Citylink Ping 166ms download 1.47Mbps upload 1.79Mbps Auckland Ping 10ms down 15.27Mbps up 2.08 Mbps |
