1176752 2011-02-10 00:55:00 I use these people for a couple of sites. One since 2005 and no complaints so far.

And I don't work for them BTW.

Hmm. Their site doesn't render well in Chrome....

I use Openhost (www.openhost.co.nz) - a little more expensive than the suggestion by Snorkbox, but I haven't had any issues in the 4 years or so I've been with them. And they are pretty good with stupid questions too....

1176754 2011-02-10 03:02:00 I second KiwiWebHost.

I use them also for a small, low-traffic site and they seem fine. I don't see how it's relevant how good or bad their site is, as the question is about web hosting not design.

Openhost may be better though, I wouldn't know.

1176755 2011-02-10 03:12:00 I am with Actrix, I have only a small website, but they have been OK for me so far. Digby (677)

The only reason I mentioned the rendering of the site was that it seems somewhat unprofessional if you are in the "interweb business" but you can't be bothered to ensure your interweb presence provides the same experience for all users....

Would you instantly employ a builder with a broken-down old ute, with handwritten signage across a dented door? He may be a very good builder, but in my experience the companies (and people) that take pride in their appearance deliver the best service. First impressions are important.

KiwiWebHost are probably a perfectly good web host company - I have no experience with them and so cannot comment on the service they provide...

And I have no relationship with OpenHost other than as a satisfied customer - as it appears are at least two PF1 member are with KiwiWebHost...

I used to be with them. Got a few too many problems and changed to Webbase.
No issues with them in 4 years now.

1176758 2011-02-10 05:48:00 I have an Openhost Reseller account. I have been more than happy with their service.

Their email support is responsive enough that I have little need to actually call them. Their staff are mostly knowledgeable, although occasionally they lack vital reading and comprehension skills when it comes the sorts of questions I ask.

Their uptime is exemplary and they attend to issues as quickly as they arise.

Give them a go, you won't be disappointed.

They are now owned by orcon, but they haven't updated their website for years and it does show if you look at the footer.

1176760 2011-02-10 07:26:00 But having said that. They host sites and are not responsible for the coding thereof. Snorkbox (15764)
