1179036 2011-02-16 22:35:00 I have various email accounts, used for different things, yet one that I haven't used publicly, like haven't used it to register at forums etc is getting 50+ spam emails in the spam folder a day.

Is it just luck of the draw?

BTW I use it to store emails I want to keep.

1179037 2011-02-16 22:44:00 You dont need to register your e-mail on the internet for it to get targeted. If you have used it to mail a friend etc, then if they get malware etc, your address gets read and thats it.... SolMiester (139)

1179039 2011-02-16 23:32:00 Yes I think there are people out there looking for email addresses and then passing them on.

So they must be getting paid for them.

I don't mind the odd bit of spam its the scam ones I hate.

I'm now getting Kiwi Bank ones that say my account has been closed! please click here!

I feel really sorry for older people (than me) and newbies, who may get trapped by these scum bags.
