| 1178563 | 2011-02-15 21:24:00 | I notice the latest thread that was closed seemed to commit the sin of disusing sexuality, in particular peoples views on homosexuality. Given that I can't see any abusive posts in that thread the only conclusion I can come to is someone has decided to moderate by subject matter. So, do we have a list of banned topics? Is this person to just decide on a whim what can be discussed? Is this person suitably mature to be a moderator on a forum? |

I don't think you guys were doing so well at that, at least in the first thread, and I could see it easily devolving again in the second. But you now what, I'll open it again. I don't want to stifle your ability to express what you want. Just please try and be civil? |

| 1178568 | 2011-02-15 22:15:00 | She has a point. Granted I'm guilty of breaking the "Keep it friendly" rule, which says "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it", but I think that as a whole the 'quality' of the tone around here has severely degraded recently. Time for a crackdown perhaps? Maybe we should call in Bruce for a bit ;) |

| 1178570 | 2011-02-15 23:27:00 | What's someone's sexuality got to do you with you anyways? Why argue about something that doesn't concern you just because it's different to your morals and values? Good on ya Mods... IMO |

| 1178571 | 2011-02-15 23:45:00 | Posts on the Gay thread just end up going like this. "Idiot!!" "No you're the Idiot" "Don't call me an Idiot" Anyway if a thread is closed there is nothing stopping you starting a new one. |

Good on ya Mods... IMO It seems that you are saying that we should not discuss anything that doesn't concern us. That's ridiculous. Surely it is the right of anyone to have an opinion on anything and surely you have the right to voice that opinion. Personally, I think that homosexuality is wrong, and I should have the right to tell all and sundry that I think it is wrong. Using the expression "gay" is just a way of making it sound respectable, but whatever you call it, a homosexual is still a homosexual and it is still an unacceptable practice. I am going to continue to express my opinion on all and every subject that takes my interest, even if some think that I should not. Freedom of expression is one of the sacrosanct and inviolable rights of a democracy and I intend to use that right as often as I see fit. Whether or not you approve is of no concern to me. |
