1178024 2011-02-14 02:34:00 Microsoft are preparing to swallow Nokia.

That simplifies my choice for the next phone, I wanted an Android anyway but I've been solidly Nokia up to now. However, since they've turned queer I'll Nok no more ias.

1178027 2011-02-14 02:51:00 I reckon this is great... I love Nokia (mostly) and WP7 looks great. wratterus (105)

1178029 2011-02-14 02:58:00 I knew symbian would die soon...
I love wp7's interface...though would prefer android (open source)
I had an idea that nokia had a relationship with ms because there is limited software for mac.

1178030 2011-02-14 03:21:00 It will keep Steve Ballmer in a job for another 12 months.. Though it may lead to the end of Nokia as a major player in the mobile market. I assume W7P is only for smartfones?? paulw (1826)
1178031 2011-02-14 04:31:00 What a tragedy.

Meego and Intel have been kicked in the nutsack. :(

They took too long to get Meego working. And now when everything is set and they have nearly reached release stage they dump it. And that for WP rather than Android of all things.

With the iphone 5 out around Q2, they've signed their death warrant.

Alas, all good things must come to an end :(

1178032 2011-02-14 04:52:00 Its amazing.
A few years ago Motorola was the tops
Then Nokia seemed to be outselling them all and could do no wrong.
Now they are strugglling and are going to use the same interface as other phones.

But how can you compete with free (Android) ?

Standardisation.

Android's strength and weakness - there is no single flavour of Android.
