1179078 2011-02-17 10:22:00 How about a buy/sell/exchange part of this forum?
Not everyone wants to pay trademe success fees.

Theres a business idea. A website specializing in people selling computer parts. Personally I don't think trademes computer section is that great.

1179081 2011-02-17 10:58:00 So today we did the build on our machines at ames; here's what I now have for sale:

Intel Core i5-680
2x2GB Kingston DDR3-1333
Asus EAH5450 Silent
Powercase PA914 with 400w PSU
500GB HDD - Seagate 7200 . 12
Standard DVD-RW
H55M-UD2H motherboard

Looking for reasonable offer's as it will be sold as new .

If anyone has some advice on selling this let me know .

I have some advice .

Since the PSU you listed there has no brand and appears to be associated with a case worth $55 I suggest you get a better one before you do anything with it .

A decent PSU would cost more than $55 - and in your situation that price includes the case as well . . .

If Ames think a PSU that cheap is good enough for that system, they are useless and don't deserve the title of an IT Academy .

1179082 2011-02-17 17:40:00 I know the PSU isn't great, but it will do what it's required to do. its a small system and it doesn't need much more, although I would prefer if it had a better brand (I believe its a Powercase-3000)

Yeah, I know of the other sites, But at-least on this site I get genuine feedback on pricing and future recommendations. I didn't REALLY expect to sell it here, but I thought I'd try and worse case scenario all that happens is I get alot of flak from the regulars lol.

1179083 2011-02-17 18:54:00 The parts are covered by a 6 month warranty by AMES I.T. Academy

You have to be kidding. How the hell can they say 6 months if these are brand new parts?
The CPU, motherboard and hard drive all have manufacturers 3 years for a start.

Breach of the CGA.

Because they know the shitbox PSU is gonna kill itself or other parts long before 3 years is up?

Wow, I must have missed that. 6 Months? what a joke. Now I dislike them even more.... and I think inphinity is probably right.
