1179334 2011-02-19 01:06:00 Well actualy, almost all captcha's are quite easily circumvented now with the right software (if you know where to get get them, things like fastOCR for instance, which tho it may sound like just another ocr, it is in fact a specialized full captcha "breaker" program

The one that remains extremely difficult still is reCAPTCA - and even that has now been cracked, but is still far too complex for the average hacker to do.

here's the lowdown on it if your at all interested! lol

1179335 2011-02-19 03:17:00 Not sure if this is correct but in some cases the first word is usually a scanned word from a book and the 2nd is a digital computer made word. Apparently it only actually checks if the 2nd word is correct as the first word can be absolutely anything from symbols to signatures.

Only what I've heard though.

Unlike humans spambots don't much care for the colour of text.

1179339 2011-02-19 20:21:00 Geeee-zzzzz, I guess a lot of computers know it's the Ha' Penny I guess.

Yes I would not mind that sort of thing

And I know that with those red and blue capcthas that you can recycle and ask for a new set f words, but that is just extra work.

Why not make the words easier to read the first time.

Wow !
I suppose some guys see all of these things as a challenge.

I think I might invent a new capcatha system and sell it to the Herald for a million dollars.

1179341 2011-02-19 20:26:00 a flash applet that requires highlighting would work... but the problem is sooner or later a auto mouse/highlight would be brought into it The Error Guy (14052)
1179342 2011-02-19 21:16:00 Just talking with some of my mates on the MTOS dev team, we were thinking moving text. I'm sure they could eventually do it [crack/decipher] but a moving recaptcha might not be too bad. Surely harder for a computer to decipher The Error Guy (14052)
