1178349 2011-02-15 00:49:00 I am trying to replace a Bulb in an outside light but I can't move it.
Any tips on how I might shift it. I presume it will require 'brute force and ignorance'?.

1178350 2011-02-15 00:59:00 Turn the power off at the fuse as you will break it, then use pliers to remove gary67 (56)
1178351 2011-02-15 00:59:00 Turn power off first of course.
Spray some WD40 and see if that works
or smash bulb and then use pliers to remove bulb.

1178352 2011-02-15 01:56:00 Turn off power, rock the bulb in an anti-clockwise direction whilst gently pushing it into the socket, wear some form of gloves like motorcycle gloves or the like, be persistent, try and judge where the bayonet clips are and loosen the whole seized assembly. zqwerty (97)
1178353 2011-02-15 02:12:00 Thanks for the tips. It is a screw in type of bulb. I was wondering if I could use WD40. I will give that a try. I guess I will end up smashing it. Do I have to turn the power off at the fuse box.? Can't I just switch it off at the wall.? Pato (2463)
1178354 2011-02-15 02:46:00 Try different things, if you don't get a shock, you will know you have chosen well. Cicero (40)

Switch should be ok provided you are 100% certain it is the correct switch and it is off. If the bulb is not working an error there is possible. As indicated the fuse is safer.
