2011-02-14 05:36:00 | They have just realesed the name of the scumbag who killed that woman in Christchurch last year. He was a violent criminal out on bail. The judge who released him should be named and sacked and with no final pay. I hope he does not sleep at night.

Like the nonsense on here about the Parole Board, there isn't as much freedon for Judges to make actual decisions as you would think. If you don't like the law, look at the politicians first. |

2011-02-14 07:10:00 | The Judges and Parole Board Members should be Named, Shamed and held Accountable. Im fed up to the back teeth with the grief these bleeding heart liberals have caused society in general and the victim and victims family in particular. Its time some journalist did some research and named the Judges and Parole Board Members who are responsible for these atrocities through their absolute negligence.

2011-02-14 07:16:00 | The previous Minister of Justice was warned about this guy by prison officers prior to his release, they took no notice, so will this govt do much, probably no more than the previous Govt. did. Let's hope they do act before another life is lost.:(:( | Arnie (6624) | |
2011-02-14 07:28:00 | May be when judges let the likes of him out on bail he should be made to stay with the judge and his or her family. I think they would take a different view then. He had a record as long as your arm and it had been getting progressively more violent.

2011-02-14 07:30:00 | The Judges and Parole Board Members should be Named, Shamed and held Accountable. I’m fed up to the back teeth with the grief these bleeding heart liberals have caused society in general and the victim and victim’s family in particular. It’s time some journalist did some research and named the Judges and Parole Board Members who are responsible for these atrocities through their absolute negligence. Judges are rarely liberal, they are generally very conservative in fact. This means they generally follow the law, which you seem to have no comprehension of. And yes sometimes they have discretion, and probably 99.9% of the time they get it right. No one is infallible, and of course the only cases that ever get in the media are when they do get it wrong. Anyone can find out who a Judge is for a case and the Parole Board actually publishes the outcome of high profile cases here (www.paroleboard.govt.nz)including who sat on the board for the case. So you don't have to be a very bright journo to find that although apparently not very bright members of the public do have difficulty locating it. So off you go Mr Courageous - name and shame away.
