1211024 2011-06-21 12:51:00 Ohk. So nVidia upgraded my graphics card about 3 weeks ago, and ever since I've had non stop issues with it. I have a GeForce GTX460 on Windows 7 Pro. What happens is the new driver will work, until I restart my computer. Then I have "compatibility issues" with my aero schemes, and can't load and media (music, videos, etc) or shockwave files at all!

Also it has now removed my GPU acceleration.

I have cleared and started from scratch. Used driver sweeper to remove and reinstall. I have tried all the options I know, even safe mode AND cmd, but NONE of them work. It will work, until I restart my computer. Then I'm back to square one again. Removing and reinstalling.

However when I do uninstall the driver using device manager, windows defaults a new driver, which works temporarily, but removes all my custom options.

I have tried the official nVidia forum and contacting them directly with no answer whatsoever

Anyone have any ideas as to where I can start?

1211026 2011-06-21 20:47:00 uninstall the drivers in add / remove programs. Or whatever version of windows youre using, not DM. And if it comes up with the window to install them again cancel it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1211027 2011-06-21 22:45:00 thanks @sk69ersnz. I used that the first time it worked but couldn't find it again. :). Will give that a go and see how it goes. :)

@Speedy, No such option for me.

1211029 2011-06-22 01:17:00 @Speedy. Sorry no I do have the uninstall program. :). My driver isn't in there though. :D dpDesignz (15919)
1211030 2011-06-22 01:36:00 OP, use device manager to change the video driver to generic or standard vga, reboot to release the drivers, then uninstall the Nvidia drivers, use cleaner whatever, then reboot and install new drivers, but I would use the latest! SolMiester (139)
