1180480 2011-02-22 07:12:00 I hope that when they cordon off the CBD tonight they arm the Police and/or Troops to pick off any lowlife looters who will no doubt try and take advantage of the tragic circumstances. Snorkbox (15764)
1180481 2011-02-22 07:19:00 Earthquake and "Christchurch" and 2012....Me thinks some kinda prophetic forewarning for 2012 :waughh:

Earthquakes in NZ, Haiti, Pakistan, Chile
Floods in Aust, Brazil, Phillipines
Dead Fish/birds in US, UK, NZ,
Revolutions in Middle east

Things definitely dont look good this time around compared to the Y2K/ 2000 Armageddon frenzy.

Everything is going wrong....economically US is bankrupt, Oil peak is upon us.

1180483 2011-02-22 08:23:00 Didn't read thread.

Power just came back on.

That was not an aftershock, that was an earthquake on it's own. Lucky to be alive.

Christchurch is ****ed.

1180485 2011-02-22 08:36:00 Right just read through thread. And wow.

First, the media is not blowing it out of proportion. It is worse than any of you could imagine, it's actually worse than what's being shown on TV.

2ndly, if you don't want to see injured people on the TV then turn it off. We were seeing dead bodies on the side of the ****ing road so grow up.

Stu, thanks for the concern. House is okay considering. Street is quite flooded, am in the St Albans area (not far from the central city)

Aftershakes are still hitting constantly, the rain isn't helping but I am thankful the power has gone back on for the night. The entire city is blocked off, streets are flooded, buildings are collapsed everywhere, I think only 2 petrol stations are open and there are fatalities. Like I said I am lucky to be alive, it really is that bad.

1180486 2011-02-22 08:38:00 Just watching news footage of the BBC and Sky news here in the UK.
Looks rather bad.
Hope friends and family are OK.

1180487 2011-02-22 08:44:00 Death toll could be at 200 - 400. (just reported)

And I don't doubt that for a second. If anything I expect it to be higher sadly.

1180488 2011-02-22 09:26:00 Must be very surreal for you wolf

1180489 2011-02-22 09:37:00 Just home from quite possibly the busiest night I have ever worked at McDonalds. We had the whole place full for 3-4 hours. Heaps and heaps of people were coming down from Christchurch, it was horrible to see the looks on some of their faces.

Girlfriend is currently freaking her **** because she hasn't heard from her dad yet.
