| 1180471 | 2011-02-22 03:55:00 | @ videos of people who are injured: We had a nasty bus collision today in the mountains near here - the driver of the bus and the two people in the car the bus hit before going off a 300 foot precipice with 22 kids - killing the three adults One of the parents of the kids was being interviewed and the reporter asks: "What is going through your thoughts about your child if he isn't one of the survivors?" The parent swung on the reporter. Fair game I say. |

| 1180474 | 2011-02-22 05:29:00 | So it's not Ok to show our own disaster victims but I didn't hear any complaints when the Haiti, China and South America coverage which showed far worse situations, and there is an alternative if it upsets you it's called the off button :2cents: | gary67 (56) | ||

| 1180478 | 2011-02-22 06:28:00 | Yes but it isn't live, it is edited. There is however a difference when it is live coverage of a local event, and you haven't got permission from the injured party to film them. I am not sure if there are laws against this. If I was injured and filmed by them, I would not be happy at all. No laws, had a mate pulled from wellington harbour by the police launch, coast watch was fiming at the time. first he knew of it was when i phoned him and told him after seeing him on TV |

Imagine watching on TV and oh look, theres my son. I dont have a problem with structural damage and the like, but when it comes to identifiable dead and wounded I draw the line. However, I guess some thrive on blood and guts. |
