I have some (not much) sympathy for someone who has just bought vouchers, perhaps as a future gift for someone, our maybe as an ' investment'...

As someone said above, cash is king. And cash is a universal voucher, accepted by most retailers...

1179484 2011-02-21 19:50:00 this is so not fair, heck with the voucher, can i get my 100 dollars back? anyone know ?

No of course not.
$100 cash to them would be even worse than honoring the voucher.

I wouldn't go that far. One time I bought some ski's, I tried some demo's as well at last minute and found I didn't like them, got a refund on the new ski's. The shop wouldn't give me a refund so I had $600 credit on my account. Had that for about 2yrs now. Still have about $200-300 credit.

I guess should the shop get into trouble I would be a unsecured creditor too .....

$100 cash would cost them more than $100 worth of books, ie., what they bought the books for and able to pay power, gas, wages .........

1179487 2011-02-25 00:29:00 Has anyone tried Seekbooks.co.nz?

Textbooks are expensive at $125.
Amazon doesn't have it, nor Book Depository. Fishpond and others are the same prices.

Seekbooks is $20 less and there is one other that is about $5 less.

1179490 2011-03-05 08:55:00 I used the Borders on queenstreet as a place to hang out more than anything else... The cafe they have there makes a nice tiramisu cheesecake.

Om the same only went there to relax they always played great music then just layed back in a chair and zoned out
