| 1180292 | 2011-02-21 23:43:00 | I had a blood transfusion a few years ago during a major operation (quite a lot of blood, IIRC). There's a reasonable chance to expect there was a Maori (or part Maori) donor, so does that mean I can now claim Tangata Whenua (since it does not appear to require proof), and get my share of $$ off the rest of you oppressive whiteys? :p Perhaps if that argument holds water, we all need to have blood transfusions from Maori donors, and then we would all get handouts... I like your thinking Johcar. Ive had three hip replacements and bleed profusely without being a haemophilic, so somewhere in amongst the blood Ive received must have been a drop of Maori blood surely. I could now be related to Princess Te Puea. In fact I feel I am. :D That should get me a handout. Hmmm, might have to change my name to Hone I guess but that shouldnt be too hard if John Hadfield can change his to Hone Harawira and Steven Gerard ORegan can change his to Tipene ORegan. (And pocket plenty in the process.) ;) On second thoughts, thinking back to when I used to give blood and the Ambulance used to pick us up from work and take us to the Blood Donors Wing of the Hospital, I cant recall any of my Maori workmates getting in. They werent Seventh Day Adventists either thats for sure. |

Tea is a good staining agent, if you're too worried about the effects of the UV rays to get a decent tan.... As you indicate, many of the activists are as white as the Pakeha they vilify, so a darker skin colour is not a prerequisite to be able to claim Tangata Whenua... |

Our census forms turned up today! You know whaT to do  Actually Q. 13 is interesting. Do you think they'll accept answers like FORTRAN and BASIC - and they're already in CAPITALS ;) |
