1180630 2011-02-24 22:39:00 Small update, still no internet at my place. No idea what's wrong, phone line dies when modem is plugged into phone jack (filter) so hoping it's just a prob with Slingshot.

Other than that, sure most of what anyone needs to know is being shown on TV.

Also must give props to Radio Live (the only station we had before today) they did a really good job of covering everything and providing information.

1180631 2011-02-24 22:44:00 Now for some GOOD news:

www.youtube.com

An army of student volunteers helping out in quake-hit Canterbury is expected to grow to substantially by the end of the week, as more join the call to help.

This is so great, many hands make light work as they say

1180633 2011-02-24 22:47:00 It would be interesting to see how the police and courts react when someone takes the law into there own hands and shoots or does serious injury/fatal injury to a looter.

Be interesting to see what a jury would come back with.

The jury finds the defendant not guilty on all counts your honour.

1180636 2011-02-24 23:18:00 Tradtionally there are always looters in national disasters.
But they usually break into shops and take washing machines and plasmas.
Not people's homes, that is really low

An ambulance guy read out a story on Danny's radio show, where they had to amputate a guys legs and took him to hospital but he died later on . May have been the same guy .

Poor bastard .

1180638 2011-02-25 01:49:00 The doctor in the article was just on National radio. The guy from the story is out of intensive care and doing as well as can be expected Sam's Dad (11848)
1180639 2011-02-25 03:15:00 The first two Crusaders home games are going to be played in Nelson, it's cool they have stuck to playing them in NZ rather than going to the opposing team's home grounds.
