| 1180602 | 2011-02-24 07:39:00 | The people theiving during this should get 30 seconds to state their case, 3 seconds of carefull consideration of their case, and 30 minutes of execution by sledgehammer. Utter scum! Among all this unavoidable terror and grief they willingly and deliberately add further to peoples terror and grief. Honestly, the military should be given licence to shoot to kill anybody caught looting. |

Same should apply to those dairy owners that are hiking up the cost of milk etc. One dairy is reported to be selling milk between $7.50 to $10 a bottle and after the last shake in Sept, one of the petrol fore outlets was selling AA batteries at $10 each. All in the name of making a quick buck off other people's suffering. |

If you know what needs doing then please go and do it instead of constant critisism which is not constructive as such! The point Im making is there are heroes out there slogging their hearts out trying to do something constructive rescuing people, whilst the head honchos are parading for the media, look at me, look at me. Its a bloody disaster area not a prop for a media drama. Someone could be dying whilst a supposed leader is posing for the camera and answering stupid fn questions. More work, less theatre (at the behest of the ghouls at the TV Stations) is what was required, and the clocks ticking. And seeing you brought up Pike River again Snotbox, I can tell you that the Experts I supported, and the ones you ridiculed, may very well turn out to be right. You will have noticed the matter has gone very quiet? Well, Ive been told on quite good authority that there has been quite a lot of action with holes being drilled and cameras lowered. However, some of the photos Im told reveal that there was not anywhere near as much damage as envisaged and possibly lives could have been saved, as suggested by the experts you ridiculed. Also, Im told most of the photos have been embargoed, which I guess tells you something. The enquiry will be interesting, but if its anything like Erebus or Cave Creek it may take years for the full truth to reveal itself, given that arses that need to be covered. In the meantime, I stand my ground and suggest we have yet another case of All Talk and No Do by some. |

Now I would have no problem with looters looting THEIR stores. Provided the looters are then shot immediately and their haul distributed to people needing them. |

Those that do slog it out doing their what they can to save others must be sickened by people such as yourself. Nomatter what the result they have to live with their experiences for the rest of their lives, and all you want to do is put the boot into them. |

| 1180607 | 2011-02-24 08:25:00 | I kinda look at all the politicians who are on screen making a legacy for themselves as being occupied and staying out of the way of people who really know what they are doing and from doing it. It keeps them away from interfering with progress - and besides the media are at the same time feeding off a politician - and that keeps two non-productive people out of the way of the rescuers. |

BM, for these claims to have any validity, you need to need to identify the authority, who is telling you these things, their qualifications to make the type of judgments you advance as sacrosanct. If anything has been embargoed, then what has been embargoed, under what or whose authority, and when is the embargo to be lifted? All you have said so far is nothing but hearsay. I'm with Metla: Those in charge of the Pike River disaster had to make their decisions based on the information they had on the day, not on what could be turned up in the following years. |
