Would like to see some kind of Extra Tax that everyone can contribute to get the substantial infrastructure up and running again,Insurance will take care of the other rebuilding but not the Human lose |

| 1180598 | 2011-02-24 05:25:00 | Back! Me and one of the flatmates made the big journey to the gf's. I live in dallington/richmond area and am now happily sittin in spreydon with power and internet! No sign of water though. We lost our house, a LOT of flooding and plenty of damage to the roads. Our house is still standing but sits a good 150-200mm off the foundation. You can feel it rock if someone walks around and any aftershocks just last forever cos the house keeps going. Me and my family/friends are safe but already hearing about deaths through people we know. A bit rough but gotta keep the chin up. Last night we were sitting around in the dark at the flat and the whole thing kinda hit us all. Seems we finally got it through us that we are homeless and all that's left to do is wait. When we left this morning after moving what valuables we could we were about the last left on the street. Everyone has up and left to go stay with family friends etc. Thoughts go out to those who have lost friends and family and also those with nowhere to go. If we can help in anyway let me know. Will be staying in spreydon until who knows when. Will get pics up soon |
