1210613 2011-06-19 23:30:00 Hello all,

I'm wanting to replace my aging Pc with a all-in-one PC. Something that doesnt take up so mauch room as a full or mini tower case. Its not for gaming so much these days so doesnt need to be too highly spec'd. I'd like to keep to under $2k.

Whats peoples opinions of these such machines;

Acer Aspire Z5710 PC

Asus EeeTop PC ET2011ET-B017E PC

Cheers,

1210614 2011-06-19 23:36:00 Avoid Acer.

ASUS is good - but it's not a PC. It's more like a netbook. depends on your needs but don't expect high performance.

Perhaps a 17" laptop instead ??

The Asus has reasonable(good) spec's. Not sure why PCTek compared it to a netbook ???

because:
CPU model Pentium Dual-Core E5700 3.0 GHz
HDD 500 GB
RAM 4096 MB

You can do better than that these days with their laptops..........

And a pain in the butt while in warranty :eek: Looked at one recently, and the powerpack had died after about 2 months. Noel Lemons can source a replacement but they're on "backorder" and will take a couple of months to arrive.

These are more than adequate specs, for a desktop :thumbs:
Netbooks are usually around the 1.8Ghz range.

Asus Laptops from the same site are lower spec'ed for considerably higher price

1210619 2011-06-20 02:00:00 For $1,000 it's hard to beat this:
