1182024 2011-02-28 03:40:00 Could this be true:

A friend of mine told me that Xtra doubled his bandwidth from 20GB to 40GB two years ago and now doubled it again to 80GB recently.

Is he pulling my legs or there are such incidences?

sounds right

we were on 20GB, then telecom offered to double it to 40GB for a dollar or two extra a month

1182027 2011-02-28 05:41:00 Orcon doubled ours about a year ago as well...from 1GB to 2GB at no extra cost. Some months we even stick to that. :) PJ Poppa John (284)
1182028 2011-02-28 06:05:00 Don't confuse bandwidth with cap - you're talking cap here... johcar (6283)
1182029 2011-02-28 06:52:00 I used to have a 3 GB cap with Actrix. They upped my cap to 10 GB. Bobh (5192)

You're right, it's cap. :o

1182031 2011-02-28 07:18:00 Probably users who were on total home or total home lite, as in Feb some new plans were rolled out with 40, 60 and 80gb caps - with the option of overage or throttling.

I myself went from Total home to the new "total home broadband" 40gb for the same cost as I was getting 20gb with free National tolls. Under the new plan you can nominate numbers at $6 each for unlilmited calling to that number. For me the cost worked out the same, and now I get 40gb.

$105

40GB Included

National
$2 . 50 for national landline calls up to 2 hours per call (then $0 . 18 per minute after that)

or

10GB Included
Unlimited number of calls to national landline numbers for up to 2 hours per call (then $0 . 14c per minute after that)

I left mine at 10GB, rather have the unlimited calls .
