1212496 2011-06-28 23:09:00 they dont reccomend using the exe version in vista for some reason, as speedy pointed out earlier.

1212497 2011-06-28 23:13:00 Someone else on the forum tried doing that and IIRC it just plain didn't work. However I wouldn't try in case it corrupted the flash or something.

I think you'll have to do it on XP of some kind, UBCD4Win would probably work, and should be the easiest way for you to do it.

1212499 2011-06-28 23:45:00 looks like i need an XP disc or something? as the source file.

1212500 2011-06-29 00:28:00 Aah yes sorry about that, forgot you do need an actual XP CD to build the disk. If you look around of course you can... get one, just delete it straight after you use it if you're worried about copyright.

Of course what really matters is the CD Key so as long as you've just got the disk, it doesn't matter.

If you're running Vista\Win7 just make sure to run the UBCD builder as Admin.

1212502 2011-06-29 02:26:00 Tell you what, I'll build the UBCD myself, test its ability to run the firmware update tool and if it works, I'll upload it for you somewhere. Might take a while but it's probably the easiest way!

Just make sure you delete it after use etc.
