1212476 2011-06-27 23:24:00 GameJunkie: Going by your line stats it looks like your router is in ADSL mode or can only do ADSL.

Switch to ADSL2+ mode or get a newer router and you should get a speed increase.

one the front of the modem it says ADSL2+

1212478 2011-06-27 23:34:00 You should be able to find a status page in there somewhere that shows the current mode of your connection, if it's not ADSL2+ then change it, and see what happens... Agent_24 (57)
1212479 2011-06-27 23:38:00 DLINK DSL-502T Gen 2

on the status page it says under modulation: ADSL_2Plus

under the advanced tab and then the ADSL tab it has ADSL2+(Multimode) selected.

here's the other modes available

1212480 2011-06-27 23:46:00 You could try changing the modes but since you're running in ADSL2+ mode already it's more likely your line is just too long to allow your speed to go any faster. Agent_24 (57)

See if your address is running off a cabinet.
If it is, then I'd suggest it could possibly still go faster.
Checking your home wiring and replacing the router ought to help.

Other than that, your connection details look relatively good, still a hell of a lot faster than mine :p

1212484 2011-06-28 03:09:00 Might want to try a new router and\or filters then I guess

I remember a few years ago with my old D-Link filters I got about 1.3Mbit but after switching to some new DSE filters I got 3.2Mbit

1212485 2011-06-28 03:17:00 ^^ I'll second that. Ditch the D-Link, get some shiney new filters on *every* single utilized jackpoint in the house, and go from there. At the very least, you've covered off the cheapest and most common issues.

That, or you may decide that 8mbps is simply "acceptable" enough for you.
