2011-02-28 23:14:00 | And some men were even afraid to fall off the edge of the world. I remain a sceptic but I don't rule anything out or in when it can't be proved either way. There are forces at work on the planet that nobody understands so how can anyone say one way is correct and another isn't. lets face it the metservice have more degrees on their payroll than many companies and science at their fingertips and they still can't get the forecast right. I'm not saying Ken Ring is right or wrong just that I have an open enquiring mind not a head in the sand ostrich mentality

2011-03-01 00:46:00 | . . . Well, the attached plot shows the Earth tides for Christchurch (the cathedral, in fact) . . . . Is that one of the cathedrals that the real god smote when destroying the works of the unbelievers who worshipped a false god? That's quite a plot .

And he goes on TV to say he predicted the earthquake now huh? So why wasn't he all over Ch/ch jumping up and down and screaming it from the rooftops . He's as bad as the religious end of the world nutters . |

2011-03-01 01:25:00 | I bought one of his weather books a couple of years ago and then proceeded to mark off his predictions as I experienced the actual days' weather . I found he was no better at getting it right (or wrong) than the Met Service . However he differed from the MetService in that he did forecast the weather for more than three or four days out . To be able to guess (luck? skill? science? magic?) several months out from current time is a bit intriguing, whatever method he uses . . .

2011-03-01 01:57:00 | I have bought Ken's Almanac now for about 8 years, in fact the first one I bought from Ken Ring himself, and it was a plus to meet the man himself. I found him to be a very pleasant, quietly spoken person - and believable. I'm no means a devoted follower of Ring. While his weather predictions can be spot on, within a window of several days, I've found they can be far out, which he tends to manipulate to his advantage with the sometimes ambiguous way he writes. Because his forecast can be over 12 months old when originally written, his accuracy can be rendered impressive at times. So at least, his are true forecasts and not nowcasts. Like gary67 and 12V, I too, want to keep an open mind, unlike some detractors on this forum. :2cents:
