1181186 2011-02-25 20:35:00 Erlangen is a city in Germany and several ships have been named after it. Like HMS Newcastle the Englander ship there have been 5 of them.
Wife picked up signs yesterday will put them on tonight. Luckily signwriter hadnt started printing before I got the correct grammar to him be another $75.00
If you think the ship didnt exist then you are wrong I have seen where it hid and chopped wood to get it across to Chile. I was a mechanic for the rare breeds association trip to get semen before Dept Of Slaughter shot the Enderby cows.
Hence my interest and deep respect to its captain and crew.

1181187 2011-02-25 21:42:00 Hi Prefect.... no disrespect for your interest in this vessel. However, if you want to raise a flag to all of the German vessels which were scuttled by their crews, you would need a very large board.

A few which come to mind include the 52 ships of the German High Seas Fleet scuttled at Scapa Flow on 21 June 1919 where they were interned by the dreaded Englanders. And then the Pride of the German Battle Fleet, the Graf Spee which was scuttled by its Captain within sight of the crowds on shore at Montevideo Harbour 0n 17 December 1939. This after being cornered by three smaller vessels of the dreaded Englander type, after a short but merry life of sinking a series of grain carrying vessels, tankers and other unarmed merchant ships.

There are more, but that wee list should keep your sign-writer busy for a while.

1181188 2011-02-25 23:23:00 I have an interest in this ship because it was a regular visitor to NZ. And like I said before I have been to to the place it hid to refuel.
Got flag pole on my seagull racer I will probaly fly my Confederate flag because its the only flag I have.
Always wondered why the capt of the Graf Spee didn't go out of the harbour guns firing with hindsight now he had a fair chance.
Pretty sure if an englander capt did same he would have been court marshaled if he had not committed suicide for cowardice. Just my take on it other people will have their own views.
A neigbour of ours in Nelson was on the Achilles.
