1181952 2011-02-28 03:54:00 Already did this last Thursday through internet banking and ASB. Plus a couple of Vodafone text requests. I'll probably keep on contributing as funds become available to me. Thanks for your efforts. WalOne (4202)

1181954 2011-02-28 05:48:00 I'm definitely going to try that one!!

No one ever phones for me - I just pick up the phone and say "<<SWIMBO's name>>'s answering service. How may I help". She goes ballistic when she overhears it! :banana

I just refuse to answer the phone, even if its within arms reach.

If they ring back I put the phone in a different room :D

Wife isn't real impressed.

Same here, I was going to give half equally to each but ended up giving the full amount I intended to the Salvation Army.

1181956 2011-02-28 14:06:00 Good on you everyone, great thread. $20 Red Cross, $80 Salvation Army. No particular reason for uneven split, simply wanted to support both organisations. Also Habitat For Humanity (with which I volunteer) is planning practical help in the next few weeks once the immediate crisis is over.

Our family have helped with accommodation for some Christchurch refugees.

My wife is currently working intensely as a Civil Defence controller - the workload is vast and unending but that is good because of all the help being offered.

Testing times bring out the best in people.
