1180901 2011-02-23 01:43:00 too bad they are in Christchurch or I would go and pick them up. nedkelly (9059)
1180902 2011-02-23 01:57:00 YThat is why I prefer to pick hard drives up when I buy them...

Waste of time, they've been banged and thumped at every handling stage since manufacture (probably during as well) and if you've ever seen a courier loading his van from a couple of metres back you will lose all fear (or gain neuroses).

I've just shipped to daughter in Oz some clothing and other fabric items that wouldn't fit within the baggage limit. Wouldn't surprise me if a dress arrived cracked!

Cheers

1180905 2011-02-23 02:51:00 When the "head" of the drive is parked, the chance of data loss is negligible unless you're throwing the HDD at a wall.

Buy them IMO! I'd bet my money that there's absolutely nothing wrong with them, and those who say there *is* are purely giving misguided speculation.

1180906 2011-02-23 02:56:00 Buy them and send them to me. I will use them for a while to see if they work which I believe they will. Snorkbox (15764)
1180907 2011-02-23 03:03:00 I think I will believe what Chilling has said.
And I will do some tests on them when I get them thanks Snorkbox.

Perhaps you could change the dress code to 128 bit encryption as a precaution?
