Just had second thoughts about the spelling/ grammar

This is what I want and have left at the signwiters Guess i have a day or so before he makes the signs
+ In memorial to the SS Erlangen sunk by the Englanders 25 July 1941

Should it be memorial or memory?

1181174 2011-02-24 05:41:00 AS far as I am aware there is no such word as Englander. A quick search of my Dictionaries, Thesaurus and Google indicate this may be so.
Perhaps those old war comics we used to get might use it.
