2019-10-06 03:05:00 | I thought I would shout myself a new graphics card for my gaming system, until I looked at the current prices. Currently have a GTX 1080 which is still ok. Next step up GTX 1080 Ti, none left. 2nd step up RTX 2080 Ti, from $2000

2019-10-06 19:50:00 | I wait until I need to now, had a GTX980, got 4 years out of it. Upgraded to a second hand ex mining 1070 because it was cheap last year - not really that much different but still an upgrade. Been looking at the 20xx series and the prices and thinking bugger that. when the next gen comes out maybe I'll try and snag a second hand 2070. The other question is what resolution do you game at? because unless it's 4k there's really no point as piroska said. For me it's 2560 x 1080 @ 75hz and my 1070 has yet to have an issue with that. The latest game I've tried is Rage 2.

2019-10-06 23:22:00 | Thanks for the comments guys. I’m into driving games, currently Assetto Corsa Competizione. My main screen is 28’’ @ 144Mz I also have a second smaller screen for race data. I can run at max settings & hold 70 – 100 F/S There is just the odd occasion when there is a flick in the graphics. From past experience this is usually a sign to upgrade. It may not be an issue in a shoot-up type game but not so good when going round a big sweeper at 200k I bought this card when they first came out, from memory 5 years, so done fairly well. I was hoping to get hold of a 1080Ti to fill the gap but waited too long. Nothing wrong with AMD cards but prefer Nvidia for what I do.

2019-10-13 22:55:00 | Could have a problem. I have the new card but havent fitted it yet. These new cards have done away with the DVI interface & now have HDMI, DP & Type-C My monitor has VGA, DVI & HDMI but only the DVI is 144Hz. Is a HDMI or DP to DVI adaptor going to give me 144Hz ??

2019-10-14 00:00:00 | DP has the best chance, but I think HDMI 2 also supports high refresh rates. Actually HDMI 1.3 will too, depends on the resolution. At 1080P any of them will likely be fine. I can't test though, my monitor only does 75hz and that works on everything.
