| 1463920 | 2019-09-21 00:54:00 | They are digging the holes in the street for the fibre - woohoo! It is due to be done by Feb 2020, but I think it will be earlier than that. I was talking to one of the guys and Waiatarua is about the last area for UFB1. It doesn't surprise me - we were one of the last to get ADSL as well. It looks like they are going to have to put a trench across a bit of my garden (well, the wilderness I call a garden) up by the road so they can reach the telephone pole, which is a bit of a PITA. I can't really complain though as if you look at the maps, it is actually road reserve anyway. Once it is available I will almost certainly take it up, although I am currently on VDSL and get 40+mbps down and 8 up, with a ping of 20-30ms, which is actually not bad. |

| 1463923 | 2019-09-21 07:36:00 | Sadly it appears not: Piha: Network capability now Broadband > 20 Mbps (with the right modem and plan) Broadband > 10 Mbps Network upgrade scheduled Fibre by Mar-2021 ufb.org.nz Zoom in, quite a few areas still sadly lacking. Smack in the main areas too. Have to say though, it is certainly worth the wait. |
