20/01/64 ... 5:20 dual ... what took you so long prefect? LOL

But not to detract from this young guy's achievement ... all best wishes and congrats to him. Like prefect, I would probably have cbd'ed too.

1463550 2019-09-02 07:23:00 Well my feeble excuse was it was spread out over 6 months due to weather and overseas trips. prefect (6291)
1463551 2019-09-02 07:34:00 Well my feeble excuse was it was spread out over 6 months due to weather and overseas trips.

Uh huh ... Interesting entry from my log book for the same day. A local businessman needed to get to Auckland in a hurry and chartered the same training aircraft. I was offered the chance to ride shotgun and still log the time as dual instruction. So I got to fly Whangarei - Whenuapai and return via Ardmore. :banana

I see TV News is reporting the OZ flight was the trainee's third. If that were so, he would already have had instruction in most everything necessary to successfully land that aircraft.
