1460277 2019-04-30 02:16:00 My current Windows 7 PC has just given me a random shutdown. Its happened a couple of times in the last week and I have no idea why its happening. I have done a Malwarebytes scan which showed nothing. Did a anti virus scan and it also showed nothing. I use Avast antivirus free.

And what did this say?
Don't assume it's malware...could be anything.

I don't know how to open that file.

1460280 2019-04-30 04:59:00 Heres a program to open Blue Sreen dumps/logs
www.nirsoft.net

It could be anything though. Driver issues, hardware issues, software corruption, bugs in a program recently updated/loaded
Blue Screen Viewer will give some info on where to start.

That is one of 2 things.
Most commonly a bad driver.
If not a driver issue, then a bad RAM module.

Look in Driver Manager, any ! showing?

My best guess would be a faulty video card . Could possibly be RAM if its onboard vid.
Try the video hardware in generic low res mode : uninstall all video drivers so it reverts back to the generic low res driver , as a test .

This is where you need to start swapping parts , install another vid card & disable any onboard vid.
Not easy for home users who do have a shelf full of spare parts .

1460285 2019-05-01 03:16:00 The current video card is a Nvidia GE Force GT 640. I do have a spare HD3450 256M DDR2 PCIE card I could put in and see if that makes any difference.

Also uninstalling drivers now.
