1460494 2019-05-06 01:55:00 V66.0.4 fixed the problem but see this comment "In order to use this system you need to enable the Study system. Doing so, though, provides telemetry back to Mozilla regarding how you use Firefox and some consider this a privacy risk.

Not sure if this was a good move.? It appears that the study system was turned on by default so I guess I have been using it for some time. Non of mine were turned on. (Study system) and still aren't. The patch I linked earlier doesn't require it either.

Oh Well never mind, no point in posting fixes I guess

1460495 2019-05-06 01:56:00 I have seen it on the search engine, I hope that they will be able to fix it as there are users that prefers using the said browser than Google Chrome. mrgrtt123 (17666)

1460497 2019-05-06 03:01:00 Odd thing is that even though Adblock and UBlock Origin were disabled by FF, FF behaved as though they still existed and were enabled. I saw no ads whilst they were disabled. I have updated FF to the latest version and they are enabled again. Still the same - no ads. Oh well. John H (8)

1460499 2019-05-06 03:18:00 It appears that you can disable studies again after your add-ons have been re-enabled. Pato (2463)
1460500 2019-05-07 10:34:00 Key thing to appreciate, is it wasn't an update to FF causing the issue, it was a configuration of a remote site used for checking the validity of your existing add-ons that got messed up.

I had my add blocker invalidated.
My god, an hour without it was a real shock! Stuff can get stuffed! As can the Herald. No way I'll pay for Premium with that much BS bundled along with it.
I had no idea things had got so bad with 'trusted' websites.

But back to ranting about 'Premium" Herald... how about offering Premium WITHOUT garbage ads, without commercially or politically biased articles, without grammatically garbled copy&paste reporting from other sources, and without pointless click-bait? They won't see my money if they won't offer a quality product.

Well then they are never going to get your money or mine either for that matter. Every news source is biased one way or the other and unless one is prepared to look at a lot of different sources and use their brain a little it is very hard to get a good idea of what is happening in the world. A lot of people only read the headlines in publications which they know suit their personal team view of the world and never dig any deeper.

Likewise, I also got a hell of a shock when I was subjected to their BS.

And perhaps you do get it without ads when you pay.
Of course you can't see it until you do pay.

Look at it from their point of view, no-one bys papers anymore.
Free news on the net means they get their money from where?

Nowhere that I can see, it's why they don't have reporters anymore, just freelance people.
So ads.....
Otherwise they cease to exist and then where do we get news?
