Can't rely on UK and US anymore to protect us. At the very least it would give the country a sense of direction which it sadly lacks and soak up a lot of unemployed into the services which would do a lot of them a load of good. We should be setting up the country for a long term future even if it is futile, improving infrastructure, electrifying the main trunk line, building up coastal shipping. I agree immigration should be almost completely stopped into New Zealand. Anyone not born here should be deprted if they as much as get a speeding ticket, goneburger back to where you came from citizen resident dont care. |

Since everyone even Maori are immigrants the country would return to unpopulated status very quickly |

Anyone not born here should be deprted if they as much as get a speeding ticket, goneburger back to where you came from citizen resident don't care. Immigration can be a good thing, but it should not be considered a Human Right, although the UN Global Compact for safe orderly, regular migration has been signed by 164 Nations, New Zealand being one of them. refugeesmigrants.un.org .pdf Immigration can be a good thing, as long as the people migrating to a country bring skills that are needed, the criteria should be what can the migrant do for New Zealand, not what New Zealand can do for them; additionally what can they positively contribute to New Zealand and are they willing and able to integrate into New Zealand society and accept the New Zealand societal norms and tolerance. New Zealand does not want to suffer the impediments that particularly Sweden has suffered from new migrants who won't work, won't contribute coming with all the baggage and dissensions of their home country, and who won't integrate respect the law and accept the norms of Swedish society, and are a burden on the Swedish taxpayer and society. To avoid being labelled a bigot, I won't mention the racial or religious affiliation of these unwelcome migrants to Sweden, but it is a common problem where ever they move in. This problem is also evident in several other EU members and in Britain. The boat people coming to Australia were costing the Australian taxpayer over $1 Billion a year in social welfare costs, or $40 per annum from every Australian citizen man woman and child, and the people smugglers were making a fortune. Eventually fools learn by their own mistakes, usually at considerable cost, a smart society learns by other society's mistakes and doesn't emulate them for whatever politically correct virtue signalling reason. |

Having rules of immigration written on paper won't mean a thing. Australia will really have problems. However the general in-hospitality of NZ weather will be in our favour. |
