1464075 2019-09-28 19:02:00 I can not for the life of me work out why people wouldnt want summer daylight saving.

Well I think certain members don't like it as it lets the light under the stone where they hide to deny what really happens in the world as opposed to what they think happens when they can't see it.

Cows have watches? never really understood that one either. Can't they just ignore the time change and milk when they want to ?

I like it, more daylight to do stuff after work.

You just don't give up with the snide, smart-arse comments do you.

If you dislike it that much, why are you here?

One could ask the same question of others. Made my point.

I like it, more daylight to do stuff after work. I think its more to do with schedules and habits and possibly when the tankers come to collect the milk ( COULD be wrong).

Animals don't tell the time by clocks but our dog knows when its 6am during the week and if SWMBO isn't up by then hes annoying her to get up.

This morning ( hour earlier by clock) and hes looking at us as if to say what ya up so early for ??

1464081 2019-09-28 21:02:00 Both my animals, a dog and a cockatiel, were acting strangely this morning because I got up early, they'll get used to it though. zqwerty (97)

Other than the milk tanker coming at a different time and the driver knows what to do at each farm whats the difference?

I don't think he does - that's the problem.

The cows get milked an hour earlier than they're used to so they don't miss the tanker, and cows like routine, hence the stress of the change affects their milk production.

Or something like that.

Not just like, they get used to it.
They walk to the milking sheds themselves - if the farmer is late, the cows get pissed off you know.

And you try rounding them up and making them move early.
yes, it's possible, but it's a PITA. I lived next to milkers, and did a number of jobs for dairy farmers, so I learned all that.

I saw next door come back from early milking one time too, as she rushed for the showers, covered in mud, grumpy and tired from the drama of making them go....
