1463632	2019-09-08 22:41:00	I'm guessing , when you get into your 70's , you dont care as much what happens after you die. So not as worried about the scam some retirement villiages are. They just want a small home, in a villiage with others (lonelyness issue ) , and near care for when health goes bad My Mum just sold her house & moved into one. 1463633	2019-09-10 08:00:00	The only experience I have had with these villages is through family and friends, but I have learned one thing and that is you need to go through the agreement with a Really Good Lawyer before signing anything. There are more Fish Hooks in them than the entire Japanese fishing fleet. One example is my Mother-in-law. When she died we were given 1 day to clear all her belongings which included all her furniture as well as personal stuff. Imagine trying to fit in a shift along with all the other funeral arrangements. Another is a mate who had a lovely 2 B/R unit with single car garage with internal entry. He was locked into one of these “We’ll give you your purchase price back when you leave but the house will have to be restored to original condition which includes a complete refurbish”. He had a buyer that wanted to purchase it just how it stood but that wasn’t allowed. Bottom line is they did the complete refurbishment and that somehow came to $30K. Then there is the one of the “Gated Village” where the Gate Lock failed. There are about 100 units in the complex and they all got a bill for about $100. However one of the occupants had been in the trade and figured the repair was a $200 one not a $10,000 one. Turned out the Management didn’t have to call tenders and could appoint anyone they liked. In this case it just happened to be one of the family. I could go on but I think you’ve probably had enough. :D	B.M. (505)
