2011-03-06 02:23:00 | Hi All. Over the last two years I have been writing childrens adventure books. Eight up to now with one in progress. Only short books, 10,000 to 20,000 words. Had a go at finding a literary agent but, unfortunately, they want money up front. Don't see any point in pursueing this. So I need something else to do to keep my mind & fingers active. Sedentary & on the computer & not technical. After last years Stroke, I don't have the brain I used to have! Not photography, one in the family is enough . Tried website-ing but couldn't follow it. Snorkbox has done this for me, in progress. Any suggestions? TIA PJ

2011-03-06 02:43:00 | Maybe try e-books for kids stories, but need promote somehow, maybe a online agent, social media or something. Could also create a simple blog to promote or connect somehow to e-books. Guide here (www.zizzoo.com). | kahawai chaser (3545) | |

2011-03-06 03:06:00 | Ever thought of a personal touch for these children's tales. Instead of a fictitious name you use the word processor to change the names in the story so that the child's name, pet's name, parent's name, hometown, etc are in the book. This would require a laser printer and book binding capability. Each book would be printed out for the child personally as required. No need to worry about publishers.

2011-03-06 03:13:00 | You could make up a spreadsheet with the names etc. of the children who will own the book and use mail-merge to make individual copies of each book. Keep your brain working, don't let it turn into mashed potatoes! PS. Ever tried computer programming? That'll keep your brain ticking over like nothing else!

Here is a link for publishing on the ibook store(apple)link (ireaderreview.com). Don't be put off with the apple side of things as there is also a list of aggregators that will do it and their work with the kindle and other devices. |
