1183270 2011-03-03 17:45:00 The end is near!!

1183271 2011-03-03 18:16:00 The end has been near for the last several thousand years. So far, nobody has been right. Based on that, I'm liking my odds of living to a ripe old age :-)

Still, that's gotta be a bit of a worry for Wellington after seeing the destruction that's happened in Chch

I was living in nelson when 24 May, 1968, Inangahua Junction, West Coast happened. It did a fair bit of damage up in nelson too.

Inangahua was devastated by an earthquake in 1968 which left 70 percent of the dwellings in the town uninhabitable.

1183273 2011-03-03 18:49:00 I felt that one this time, it was centred about 2 km away, near to Karapoti Road of Classic Karopoti mountain bike fame.

It sounded like an express train running through the house followed by a sharp jolt. No damage.
