1183255 2011-03-03 20:19:00 I tried doing this from 95 through 7, it failed because I didn't have upgrade discs for 98 and ME

I did go from 2000 - 7 though :D

1183256 2011-03-03 20:58:00 That was quite interesting to see gary67 (56)
1183257 2011-03-03 21:01:00 That video makes me wanna try Windows 2.0 and 3.0. I have 3.11 in virtual pc but the program manager is causing an error.

I have windows 95 (original, from genuine disk) on virtual pc aswell, and it runs pretty good, although its slower than 3.11

1183258 2011-03-03 21:34:00 What happened to Windows ME?

No doubt they didn't want to try that as it would likely have totaled the install and ruined the experiment :D

1183259 2011-03-03 21:51:00 I installed ME on my old 98 pc (this was ages ago) and i regretted it. it had the most poorest dos support ever. goodiesguy (15316)
1183260 2011-03-03 22:48:00 I tried it once, it certainly does crash as much as everyone says it does....

If you can get all the windows updates installed, stability greatly improves, however it's likely to crash during the updates and end up corrupting so much stuff that you can't get it working anyway

1183261 2011-03-03 23:42:00 I notice with each new upgrade it takes longer to install the new operating system. Most likely because the operating systems have been getting bigger and bigger. Bobh (5192)
1183262 2011-03-04 01:04:00 Well a clean install of 7 takes less time than installing XP, at least mine did. However that video was doing upgrades each time which do take a lot longer gary67 (56)
