1213918 2011-07-02 02:21:00 Hi Renmoo, not sure why everyone is going on about VGA and screen resolution when it wasnt the question.

As you already have one LCD at 1366x768 and are happy with it, the viewsonic you have selected should be a suitable choice.
As already mentioned as LED LCD screen with have lower power consumption, it will have better contrast and colour - whites are whiter on an LED LCD. Often an LED LCD screen will have a slower refresh rate, however this wont effect you unless you use it for gaming and then you might not even notice it (Many LED LCD monitors have a 5ms refresh rate versus a 2ms or even 1ms).

My only concern and something you need to research if you havent already is make sure your USB/VGA display adapter will support that resolution such as the Digitus (www.ascent.co.nz) solution.
Hope that helps.
Cheers

1213919 2011-07-02 04:12:00 The VGA on your laptop will support 25x16, why not just get a big LCD and do away with the laptop LCD?
I prefer the idea of having three screen spaces as opposed to having one giant screen and a regular screen.

However some monitors\TVs use OLED screens, but if it's using that they'll be sure to tell you. Loudly.
