| 1213189 | 2011-07-03 19:46:00 | Right - got it sorted - finally. After trying everybody's tips and suggestions the problem remained. I ran bootvis and it told me that the prefetch was taking 67 secs in the boot and that drivers were taking 72 secs in the boot process (it was taking 154 secs in total). Did some mucking around and didn't help the drivers loading time so ended up downloading and installing slimwareutilities slimdrivers software - scanned the system and updated some drivers and voila! The machine is now booting nice and fast. I haven't run it through bootvis to see what the difference is and I'm not sure which driver it was but it worked so I'm all good with that! Thanks again for your suggestions. |
