1183263 2011-03-04 01:43:00 I tried it once, it certainly does crash as much as everyone says it does....

If you can get all the windows updates installed, stability greatly improves, however it's likely to crash during the updates and end up corrupting so much stuff that you can't get it working anyway

I tried it once, a near clean install wouldn't even run System Restore. :stare:

1183264 2011-03-04 01:45:00 Yeah you have to get the updates installed otherwise it's useless. If you do manage to get the updates installed it doesn't run too badly though, although I've only managed to do that once... Agent_24 (57)
1183265 2011-03-04 01:45:00 OK, I'm hooked :p

I'm going to have a shot at this this weekend. I'll try and include as many less major versions as I can - eg Win3.1 as well as WFW 3.11 - and will include Millennium and NT 3.51/4.0 if possible. I'll install plenty of software at each stage and see how much of a mess it ends up being.... :)
